Lauren Holly Swann

Lauren Holly Swann is a UK based photographic artist who focuses on personal themes such as disability and loss. Her work combines personal archives alongside a variety of photographic processes and media. She makes the work without the intention of an audience but rather for herself as a form of self-expression and understanding.

Swann’s long-term inspiration for her work has been to explore medical themes related to mental health, her disability, Scoliosis and her journey as a patient.

Swann’s current project, To Whom It May Concern, is an educational mixed-media installation that incorporates personal medical documents, self-portrait photographs, cyanotype X-ray prints, and artistic work from her childhood.

Swann’s work was shown in the Addiction exhibition in 2025, working in collaboration with the Disabled Peoples Channel. She exhibited a series of three images from her body of work named Speed of Life, which explores how she worked through her personal grief.

Swann has also collectively exhibited work at several venues including The Avenue and Bournemouth Arts Depot Space, as well as the upcoming collaborative shows at The Gallery, Bournemouth and Copland Gallery, London.
